Head Coach

Deksyos (he/him) is a junior International Political Economy Major at Colorado College. He competed in Public Forum, Congress, and Extemporaneous Speaking in high school. In his 2018 Public Forum season, Deksyos finished 3rd in the State of Colorado and in the top 16 at the National Tournament. He has advanced to 2 seperate quarterfinal rounds of Extemporaneous Speaking at the American Forensic Association National Tournament. This year, he will take on the role of Student Body President of Colorado College.

Program Manager

Alanna Jackson (she/her) is a sophomore sociology major with a statistics minor at Colorado College with interests in studying surveillance and immigration processes, youth engagement, public policy, and feminist epistemology. In high school, she competed in a variety of events, including Congressional Debate, Lincoln Douglas Debate, Dramatic Interpretation, and Poetry Interpretation. As a part of CC’s speech and debate team, Alanna has qualified for the American Forensic Association National Tournament in Dramatic Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, and Program Oral Interpretation. Alanna will lead the overview session for the camp.

Head Public Forum Coach

Stephen Sigman is a junior computer science major at Colorado College and a captain of the Colorado College Speech and Debate Team.  In high school, Stephen was a captain of Cherry Creek High School’s Public Forum class.  In 2018, Stephen finished in the top 32 in Public Forum at the NSDA National Tournament. In his first year at college, Stephen qualified for the AFA National Individual Events Tournament in Persuasive Speaking.  As a sophomore Stephen qualified for qualified for the AFA-NIET in Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, and After Dinner Speaking. As a junior Stephen added a qualification in Communication Analysis.

Head Extemporaneous Speaking Coach

Since Russell began his competitive forensics career 7 years ago he accumulated many individual event trophies from every public speaking discipline. But most of them came from Extemp. In debate, Russell is a congressional debate National Semi-finalist and IPDA International Finalist. Russell also coached the Walla Walla Speech team to many state-wide tournament victories.

Head Platform Speaking Coach

Colleen is a sophomore student at Colorado College. She competed for 3-years in high school in Informative and Duo Speaking. Colleen ranked 17th in Informative at the national tournament in 2017 and ranked 2nd in the state in Informative speaking in 2019. In her first year in college, Colleen qualified for AFA nationals in Informative, Persuasive, POI, and Impromptu.

Assistant Director Public Forum and Extemporaneous Speaking

Max is a senior political science and economics student at the University of Colorado Boulder. He joined his high school speech and debate team as a freshman with virtually no knowledge of the activity or how it would drive him to pursue a political career. He initially competed in public forum debate, but transitioned to extemporaneous speaking as as sophomore. He qualified for the CHSAA state tournament for the three following years, and to the NSDA national tournament as a senior.

Assistant Extemporaneous Speaking & Platform Speaking Coach

Noah Hirshorn is a graduating senior and two time national qualifier from Colorado College. He has broken in multiple events at large tournaments and has earned 1st place finishes in Extemporaneous and Informative speaking. Planning on obtaining an advanced degree in atmospheric science, Noah also is interested in finding the best way to communicate scientific concepts.

Assistant Public Forum Coach

Justin is a Sophomore at The University of Colorado Boulder. He competed for 4 years in Public Forum and was the teams captain his senior year. In 2018, he finished 3rd in the State of Colorado in Public Forum and in the top 16 nationally.
